Nigeria is getting rocked by so many emotions this year, and it is not even election year yet. We are pushing through the primaries, and we hear so much hopeful and deflating news, and not in equal measure. The scale just keeps on sliding left and right. But do not give up on your hope. Hope maketh not ashamed.
And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
Romans 5.5 NIV
Do not lose hope. Here are some things to pray about during this period:
Pray for safety
We need to keep on living and moving, we cannot stop in fear. So pray for safety for all who are working and doing their best so that the nation does not get destroyed. Pray for those doing the right thing by getting their permanent voters cards (PVC) so they can vote right next year. Pray for their success and their safety, that they live to use those cards.
Pray for direction
Some people need to be in the diaspora to fund the cause, and some need to be within to push the cause. Everyone needs to be in the right place at the right time. Pray for divine direction and placement. Pray that we are all placed where our lights shine the best into the darkness we face.
With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.

Pray for strength to stand
Nothing beats the spirit down like the feeling that all your best efforts are not achieving anything. Pray that the spirits of those fighting for a better nation will not fail. Pray for strength to hold the line and not give up and abandon this mission.
Pray for miracles
Ask daily for miracles in our nation. Little miracles, big miracles. Thank Him for all the ones the nation has received. It is a miracle that we are not more devastated than this. A miracle that people are still speaking out. A miracle that people are surviving daily, living through one trying day after another and still thinking hopeful thoughts. Pray for miracles for by strength shall no man prevail.
Just worship
You can’t go wrong with just soaking in the presence of the Lord. After praying for all others, this one is for you. Find peace and comfort in worship. Let it sink in. God reigns in the affairs of men.

The angels announce this decree, the holy watchmen bring this sentence, So that everyone living will know that the High God rules human kingdoms. He arranges kingdom affairs however he wishes, and makes leaders out of losers.
